Writing — that thing we love, dread, obsess over, and occasionally flirt with at 2 a.m.

I’ve created this space so I can share my thoughts with other writers, storytellers, and curious minds on the craft, chaos, and joys of writing. Warning: there will be a frequent use of metaphors, lots of shout outs to my favorite books and authors, and an overconsumption of coffee found in these pages.
What I’m currently reading:
Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series! I’m currently speeding through the seventh book: Tower of Dawn. If you haven’t picked these books up yet (yes, I know there are eight of them and that’s a big commitment), do it.

I think this is a semi-controversial take, but I read The Assassin’s Blade novellas before starting the Throne of Glass series and think it was the right move. Without the novellas, I would have started off the first book only seeing Celaena as a morally gray protagonist, but not exactly as someone with the heart of a hero. With the novella’s as background, I understand her actions, feelings, and desires are more deeply rooted, and the choices she makes have a harder hitting impact.

Someone who read TOG first might have a different opinion, but we can only read a book for the first time once.

Another book series I’ve decided to dive into is the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard. I’ve been really excited about this one, after following Victoria on social for a while, and just finished King’s Cage, so no spoilers!
